Ashley Elia

Choreographic Assistant / Dancer

Ashley’s training at Auckland Academy of Dance has lead her to have well rounded skills in a variety of performance genres. She also completed 2 years Musical Theatre intensive studies as a ‘New Zealand Performing Arts’ Junior Associate.

On Screen, she has featured as a dancer in multiple NZ music videos including Lost Soul (Valkyrie), Running (Julia Turner), Winner (Amara Duru), Keep on moving (Amara Duru), Surface Breaks (Ekko Park) and most recently The Usurper (Arma Del Amor). She has also been seen in various shows and commercials over the years.

In 2017, at the age of 15, she was chosen to perform as a backup dancer for Famous Bollywood actor Salman Khan in the NZ Leg of his worldwide Da Bang Tour at Spark Arena. For the past 2 years Ashley has been part of the dance entourage for Gospel Artist Amara Duru for all her NZ Performances.

Other Stage credits. Ashley is a standing member of the stage company’s quarterly charitable KISS (Kids In Show Seats) productions including Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Toms Marvelous Imagination, A Christmas Story, and Robin Hood at the Logan Campbell Centre. She was also part of the select cast for Tom’s Marvelous Imagination for the 2017 extended season, TAPAC. She has performed at events such as The NZ National Body Art Awards (2018) numerous Farmers Santa Parades and was a member of the Warriors Cheers Squad.

In the dance competition world, Ashley was given the opportunity to travel internationally to Hawaii to compete in multiple genres (2016) and has travelled annually to the NZ National Awards since 2015.

Currently she is teaching at Auckland Academy of Dance, and is working towards her IDES Syllabus Teaching Qualification alongside performing in projects with The Arts Factory.
